Alter Metal Recycling/Waterloo has been serving the greater Waterloo area for almost 60 years. Originally founded as Weissman Iron & Metal by Wes & Sid Weissman, Alter purchased the facility in August of 2001.

We accept all non-ferrous scrap metal, plus appliances that need to be de-manufactured. We also buy car bodies crushed or uncrushed and appliances that have been de-manufactured by licensed dealers. Our facility has a one-year-old 80/104 Texas Shredder for recycling of car bodies and other sheet iron material. We also have four Liebherr cranes for unloading customer products.

We offer roll-on and roll-off trailers and containers (16 yard up to 50 yard containers), plus lugger boxes, which range from 6 yard to 20 yard sizes. Pick up is available within 24 hours of receiving a call from the customer. We also place containers for one-time clean-ups and on construction sites.
