Tin coated wire will have a silver coating around the copper and will not be magnetic. It will look like silver from the outside, but after looking at the core of the wire, you will see a reddish color. The tin coat will cause the price of tin coated copper to be around a #2 copper wire price compared to bare bright copper wire prices which will not have a tin coating.
