Hey, iScrappers!
Have you ever wondered about some weird metals that you see the names ending in “-loy,” and are not really sure what they are talking about? There are some crazy metals out there that you may never see, but we want to tell you a little about them. Metals like Waspaloy, Hastelloy, and many others.
These metals are what you call “Rare Earth Metals,” they are high-temperature metals that are generally used in aviation, space programs, and medical environments. They are very expensive metals, so they are rarely used by homeowners or even for normal commercial use.
These alloys can cost anywhere from $50-500 per lb sometimes, so they generally don’t make too many mistakes with them.
Any questions on these or other metals? Let us know!
Until next week, scrap ya later!
