Many people ask about some of the different alloys we have listed through our metals pages, like Monel and Inconel, and where they can find these alloys. High nickel alloys like Monel and Inconel, as well as stainless steel, are made to be non-corrosive, non-rusting alloys that can perform well in high-temperature environments and very clean environments like hospitals and labs.
Nickel is a very expensive alloy traded on the metals exchange and used in many applications. While Nickel in pure form is magnetic, when mixed with other alloys like chromium and iron, among many others, these alloys (like stainless steel) can become non-magnetic and prove to be very high-performing metals.
If you have any other questions about nickel-based alloys, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
