With the summer underway hopefully we will begin to see a higher frequency of scrap finding its way into your trucks and cars. Don’t forget to post some of the prices that you receive through the iScrap App to help other scrappers know what yards are paying…plus you can see what other people are getting in the area as well.
The copper market has taken a hit over the last week with prices dropping about 7-10 cents per pound. Why this has happened has a lot to do with much uncertainty in the entire market going forward and what is going to be happening deeper into 2015. Hopefully we will be able to see the market improve but I don’t think that it will be jumping up any time soon.
The aluminum market continues to weaken with the prices dipping lower over the last 6-7 weeks with little end in sight. The markets have been dipping mostly because of the lower demand along with the abundance of material that has crept up over the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015.
Steel has continued to climb with prices up another $5-10 per ton and it seems to be holding after the growths which is very positive. With the market finally rebounding we are hoping to see this drift across all metals…but for strange reasons the market has been very disjointed and we do not know what is going to happen going forward.
Any other questions please let us know and we will get it right over to you!
