What a weird week it has been for scrap prices…and we will get into that shortly. Make sure you are updating the prices online through our Report Your Price feature so you can have a better idea about prices that you have as well as prices that others have received.
Copper has been all over the map in the last week. Prices dropped about $0.15 per lb…and then jumped up about $0.07 per lb….so since last week they are down overall. Expect to see an immediate impact with them.
Aluminum continues to remain weak, but the market has not done any sudden drops in the last week which is great to see after the last few months of constant drops.
Steel prices are going down, expect the markets to drop $10 per ton with more drops coming.
With so much tension and attention on Greece, it will be interesting to see what happens with the markets in the coming weeks. With the summer here a lot of trading patterns are funny because of mixed 2nd half of the year expectations.
Until next week…scrap ya later!
