Copper is one of the oldest known elements to have been used for tools, trading, and decorative pieces. Dating back thousands of years, you can see copper used in multiple items, from trading coins to hunting tools.
Today, copper is found in almost every electronic that you see and is one of the best elements to conduct and transfer electricity. While many other alternatives have come about in recent years, such as fiber optic cable, PVC piping, and just normal steel pipes, copper is still a hot commodity.
Some of the most common places to find copper include:
- Wires from the backs of electronics that plug into your wall
- Copper pipes used for plumbing
- Copper windings inside of electric motors
- Inside of the computer and internet cords.
I hope this helps. Scrap ya later!
