Our Favorite Holiday Gifts for Any Scrapper – Including Top Tools To Profits

As the holiday season approaches, there’s no better time to show appreciation for the scrappers in your life with the perfect gifts. Whether they’re passionate about scrapping or love getting their hands dirty with DIY projects, our list has something for every enthusiast. We decided to ask the Scrappers of Reddit and our Scrap Metal Facebook Group what gifts they hope will be under their tree this year!

Cutting Tools

Our Choices Are…

A Sawzall will always be at the top of most scrapper lists. As far as function is concerned, you can use these for chopping virtually any material to the size your yard may demand. Here is one we recommend.

If they already have the Sawzall but need to keep them running logner while on the road, grab them a battery pack (or even a spare), ensuring uninterrupted scrapping sessions without the hassle of frequent recharging.

If they already have the tool, and you’re looking for a smaller gift, then make sure they’re cutting safely and easily with a set of fresh blades.

You might need something a little more nimble and with a shorter reach. Perfect for dealing with compressors or smaller copper fittings. An angle grinder is worth checking out if needed.

Work Gloves

Keep Your Hands Clean

Or Keep Your Hands Warm

Hand Tools

Sometimes, the most straightforward tools are the ones you reach for most often. As a result, these tools can get worn down from days (even years) of heavy use that scraping can often demand. It’s always a great idea to peer around your garage and take stock of what hand tools you have and which are ready to be retired. Here are a few great options to replace the smaller tools in your shop. These are great stocking stuffers for any handy person this time of year.

Drilling Tools And Accessories

This Combo Kit from Dewalt is bound to be your favorite (or your scrapper friends). Drills and Impact Drivers are incredibly versatile tools that can be fitted with various sizes and bit ends to suit your task. Something as simple as ripping screws off the back or some yard furniture, popping off tires off an old scrap car, or if you’re entirely disassembling and cleaning a refrigerator for scrap becomes so much easier.

Copper Scrapping Tools

We all know scrappers’ first true love is their trucks. Their second love is probably Copper. The only problem with that is that most times, you’ll have to sift through all the wire and tubing found scrapping and eventually start stripping a good chunk of the wire as well as cutting all the old tubing down to size

There are far too many great products to list here, but here are a few recommendations and more of our resources for finding the best tools for you!

Vehicle/Storage Accessories

We’ve discussed how a scrapper’s truck is one of the most essential tools when you start increasing the size of your loads. One of the blessings of a truck is the sheer size of the bed and all the options for storage and recovery. Here are a few one-size-fits-all recommendations:

Miscellaneous Gifts

Here are a few times that touch on many aspects of the above list but don’t fit neatly into any category.

Max Torque Wrench Set – Perfect set of wrenches for virtually every application, from scrapping, home reno, auto repair work, or general contracting.

Gerber 12-in-1 Multi-Tool – An easy and well-rounded gift for practically any handy or outdoorsy person. You can’t go wrong with this one.

Hand Sanitizer – Here’s a bit of a curveball, but one that makes sense. Scrapping can often be a dirty business, and frequently, you’re dealing with materials that can get messy and may or may not have been in contact with other people (and their germs!). Especially during flu season, keeping a few handy in your glovebox when you’re out and about or at the yard, dropping off a scrap load is always a good idea.

Torx Screwdriver Set – When dealing with e-scrap, one of the first frustrating questions you’ll ask yourself is, “Why do they use these tiny, oddball screws?” This screwdriver set is a bit more niche than your standard screwdriver, so if you or your scrapper gift buddy deals with a lot of electronic scrap, this would be a welcome addition to their arsenal.
