July 9, 2012 – Rockaway, NJ – The iScrap App team is proud to announce that two of their team members are going to be competing in the first New Jersey based Warrior Dash on Saturday, July 14th in Morristown, NJ. Tom Buechel, creator of the iScrap App and fellow employee and sister Virginia will be gearing up for their first ever Warrior Dash but have a bigger goal of competing to help save children’s lives.
The Warrior Dash is a 5k run through obstacles, woods, and more challenges like crawling through mud, along the way. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a partner of all the Warrior Dash contests across the country and competitors have the option to sign up to be a St. Jude Warrior and raise money for the charity. Individuals that raise over $250 each will have access to the St. Jude Warrior Tent, which allows them to have showers, unlimited food and drinks during the day’s festivities.
Both Tom and Virginia have been raising funds the past few months for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and together have totaled over $1,000 towards the event. Doing charity work for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is not uncommon for these two St. Jude Warriors, they have helped raise thousands in the past few years with events held by the iScrap App.
During the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) Conventions in both 2011 and 2012, the iScrap App has hosted its annual iScrap4Kids event. Bringing together executives of the scrap recycling industry, iScrap4Kids has silent auctions for various prizes, with all proceeds going towards St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Hoping to continue the trend of giving within the recycling and scrap metal industry, the iScrap App and its team look forward to working hard to continue to be St. Jude Warriors on and off the battlefield.

About the Warrior Dash:
An extreme 5-6K running race with obstacles, including jumping over fire and crawling through mud with barbed wire hung overhead. Each Warrior Dash consists of at least 12 obstacles along a 5-6K course followed by a festival complete with live music, turkey legs and beer steins among other interactive elements.
