The iScrap App team was excited to get the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge started for the scrap metal industry recently with our nominations for Peak Seven Advertising, Midwest Industrial Metals, Scrap-It Metal & Recycling, Moose Scrapper, and Original Feets. We encourage the iScrapper community to also participate and donate to the great cause for ALS awareness and research.
It took about 15 minutes to fill our dumping hopper with over 900 pounds of water. With a crew of 2 manning the dumping of the water, Mad-Faced Ernie, Joe, and Geo participated in the #IceBucketChallenge and nominated some friends of their own.
ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease when it was made publicly aware by the Hall of Fame picture. It is a nervous system crippling disease that slowly deteriorates the body and the brain cells. You can find out more about this disease on the ALSA website.
