9/9/15 Scrap Price Update: Good News As Copper Climbs

Scrap Copper Prices are ClimbingHey iScrappers!!!!

Believe it or not…WE HAVE GOOD NEWS! Hopefully you have been able to post some of the prices that you have received for your scrap through our website or at least checked out others prices that have been posted.

Copper prices are UP!!! You should see about a 10 cent jump on the copper pipe and stripped wire prices. It was a welcome sign after a long Labor Day Weekend to come back and see the price jump, now the key will be where it goes from here.

With so much up and down moves in the markets, we are really interested to see what is going to be happening going forward and how things are going to be changing. Hopefully this will not be a short term thing, but a longer term growth, but more important…stabilization.

Steel prices have not been so fortunate with prices down about $5-10 per ton across the board on all steel pricing. The market overseas continues to weaken and it will be a very tough sell going forward. We still think that it is worth picking up, especially if you can take electric motors or copper wire out of the appliances and other items that you grab.

Other metals updates:
-Aluminum has climbed a little bit, not enough to see big price swings.
-Gold has leveled off in the mid $1120 per ounce range, again, no big swings.
-Stainless pricing is lower right now with the Nickel markets down. Make sure all of your stainless is VERY clean before selling.

Ok iScrappers, don’t forget to post your prices online and check out what others have posted on www.iScrapApp.com….SCRAPPPP YA LATER!
