What a week we have seen since our last update, wow…it has been crazy between the stock market, the metals market, and the overall financial sector in general. Luckily hundreds of people have been posting the prices that they have been receiving at their local scrap yards which will really help you out. Don’t forget it is FREE to post prices for scrap that you have received as well.
Copper has dropped almost 10 cents over the last week, and those price changes will be immediate. The market is in a real limbo right now and there are a lot of uncertainties going forward. We don’t expect to see the price of copper or other red metals like Brass or insulated wire jumping any time soon.
Gold was the one shimmering metal that seemed to be strengthening as the stock market went down, but gold also seems to be going back down.
We didn’t see a big price swing for steel or iron the last few weeks, but most are still predicting a price drop coming again of another $10-20 per ton.
Most other metals are going down, and with so much uncertainty in foreign markets like China and parts of Europe this seems to be what it is going to be going forward.
