8/19/15 Scrap Price Update: 7-Year Lows Hit Metals

weekly scrap price updateHey Scrappers!

In the last week we have really seen some great people posting the prices that they received for scrap on iScrapApp.com, please join in and post the prices that you sold scrap for!

What is going on with the market is what everyone is asking lately…and it really has been crazy. We have reached 7-year lows on almost all metals in the last week and it does not seem to be slowing down.

Copper prices have fallen, and many analysts think that the price drops are not over. Many are predicting copper to fall another 20-30 cents…so if you plan on holding onto your material you might want to think twice about that.

Aluminum prices have also fallen, don’t be surprised to start to see prices in the mid 20 cent a pound range and even in the mid-30’s for some items.

Steel has not moved much in the last week, with prices still at 7 year lows don’t expect much movement in the market. Many scrap yards are instituting minimums for steel purchases because of the low value of steel so do not be surprised if you have to meet a certain weight requirement going forward.

Don’t forget you check the prices that people have posted online as well as posting some prices yourself…until next week, scrap ya later!
