Good Day iScrappers!

We hope that all is good with you, for those 30 million or so people affected by the snowstorm yesterday that you made it safe and warm inside of your house. Let’s dive right into the market updates…

Non- Ferrous Market Updates

With the copper market pulling back slightly over the last week we started to see a small uptick over the last day or two which is a positive sign. We are seeing the market react a little more positively, we will have to wait and see what happens with the interest rate going up, that will have an impact…but we will have to wait and see how.

Reported Non-Ferrous Prices:

Here are some of the prices that we have seen over the last week. We try to get a good grasp of the markets across the county, but with so many prices being reported it is tough to really dig through them all. We have seen the levels of copper creep up in the

Ferrous Market Update

With the steel prices performing so well the last few weeks our optimism has really crept up. We have seen so much good news coming from the steel markets that we are really encouraged going forward. With the production of new steel up across the US/Canada we are really happy to see the markets responding so well and the pricing of steel and iron has continued its upward trends and that looks to remain strong for the rest of the month of March.

Reported Ferrous Prices:

  • Yuba City, CA: Cast Iron, $60 per ton (3/14)
  • Wilmington, CA: Light Iron, $40 per ton (3/14)
  • Clackamas, OR: 0 per ton for Tin (3/13)
  • Fontana, CA: $130 per ton for Cast Iron (3/13)
  • Omaha, NE: Light Iron, $130 per ton (3/12)

Other Market News

In some other markets we have seen the gold prices dipping down below $1200 per ounce for the first time since the end of 2016, but the markets are still very strong overall. Aluminum continues to have strong pricing and that has been mostly because of the inventory levels remaining at a lower level and still being built up.
