2/4/16 scrap metal pricesHey iScrappers!!!

With the 2nd month of the year up and running it is great to see some uptick in prices the last few days. We hope that you have been able to update some of the prices that you have been receiving from your local scrap yards. Make sure that you put them online to help other scrappers and to see what the markets are doing!

Copper Prices Have Been Stronger

Copper in the last few weeks has really been a strong commodity for the first time in a long time…we have seen some uptick lately and we are very happy to see that copper prices have been rising. With the oil prices all over the map it is tough to really gauge where the market is going to be headed going forward. This may be a temporary jump in prices as the market has been in such flux that it may not be easy to sustain this price jump for a long time.

Steel Remains The Same

Steel has not had much movement in the last week, again with the oil/gas prices all over the place it is really difficult to guess what you are going to be seeing price wise going forward, but with some of the other metals having a increase that certainly will not hurt the steel markets future outlook.

What To Expect in 2016

Many people, myself included, think that this is about the bottom of the market levels. I have talked, read, watched, listened, observed, and researched what is going on with the overall scrap and metals market and most tend to think that 2016 will be a very average year. With the markets really jumping all over the place it is very tough to gauge where they are going to be going next.

Any other questions that you have about the markets please let us know and don’t forget to continue to report your prices on the iScrapApp.com today!

Scrap ya later, Tom
