1/27/16 Scrap Price Update: Copper Up Slightly

January 2016 Scrap PricesHey Scrappers!

Where have the prices gone recently?!?! Well if you ask that question today the answer is UP!!! We have finally seen some sign of life in the copper market with the market coming alive the last few days. We have seen copper prices jump and that is a very welcoming thing after the last few weeks and even months.

Copper Market Sees Some Uptick

All of the markets seem to have come alive this week, and hopefully that trend will continue going forward. The copper market jumped up about 7 cents this week so you should see a rise at your scrap yard and their prices as well. There should be a smaller trickle down effect on the Brass and insulated wire prices as well, but any uptick in pricing is very welcome.

Aluminum Prices See A Jump

Aluminum prices have also seen an uptick and you should see a 2-3 penny per pound rise on most clean metals either this week or beginning next week.

Steel Market Stays The Same

The steel market has not seen much of a rise, there has been a lot of talk but not much movement has been seen yet. Hopefully after the positive swings in the non-ferrous market that will start to spill over into the steel and iron market.

Don’t forget to POST YOUR PRICES!!! This way you can not only see what prices you are getting, but what others around you are getting so we all help each other out with these scrap prices jumping all over.
