12/16/15 Scrap Price Update: Copper Is Not Going Up

unnamed (8)Hey iScrappers!

First and foremost…Happy Holidays! Whatever you celebrate this time of year we hope that it is healthy and happy and you are able to have some great time spent with family and friends.

Not Positive For Steel or Iron

In the last week nothing crazy has happened in the scrap world. We have seen a small rise in prices in the steel market, but not enough to drastically change any prices that you may be getting at your yards. The overall outlook in the steel and iron market is not very positive right now, with many mining and ore companies laying off many workers we don’t see too much good news coming anytime soon.

Copper Prices Don’t Seem To Good

Copper prices have maintained the same level over the last week with minor increases and decreases across the board. We have seen a lot of news going on but not too much impact or effect on the overall market. We do not think (or hear) that the copper prices will be rising anytime soon, so if you are hoarding or holding onto material we recommend cashing it in.

Aluminum Sees Small Rise

Aluminum has gone up slightly, but nothing major in the last few months has happened (like many other metals) that will impact these prices.

With one week left before most major shopping will be done we hope that you are scrapping well…and scrapping often. Make sure you keep posting your prices online and check out the prices that many other people have been posting throughout the US and Canada.
