10/7/15 Scrap Price Update: Steel Drops More, Copper Slight Jump

Scrap prices in october 2015Hey iScrappers!

We can’t believe that 9 months of the year is already gone, how time flies! Don’t forget to update your prices that you have been paid online through www.iScrapApp.com today.

Steel Prices Are Not On Our Good Side

Steel prices have continued to be the elephant in the room and the bad news topic. Prices have continued to decline and we hear rumblings that the markets will be going down another $20-25 this month. Many scrap yards have either stopped buying steel or are paying half of a penny per pound.

Copper Might Be Jumping?

Copper has become a small beacon of light lately. With prices jumping about 6-8 cents in the last week it has been a great thing to see. Hopefully this trend will spill over to the steel market but we just don’t know.

Gold Is Climbing Too

Gold has been on the rise lately and because we saw those copper prices jump up we have seen other metals like brass and insulated wire jump as well. So even some of those items like dishwashers and air conditioners that have a lot of steel on them are difficult to take apart, at least you can make money with copper prices rising.

Ok iScrappers…scrap ya later!
